Note:
Resolving the worldwide problem of inadequate drinking water and sanitation is particularly challenging because of its fragmented, dispersed nature. In rural areas alone in Latin America, Asia and Africa, hundreds of thousands of disparate communities need adequate supplies of drinking water. There is not one answer or one type of project that will solve the global drinking water problem. Unlike an inventor of a vaccine, no one person will find a cure. But the problem's fragmented nature means that there are many ways for governments, institutions and individuals to respond. Each person has, if he or she chooses, a role to play to help those without water acquire a life-giving daily supply. The ways of response are myriad and several options are listed above.
